The Hubble Space Telescope (HST; also known colloquially as "the Hubble" or just "Hubble") is a space telescope that was carried into orbit by a Space Shuttle in April 1990. It is named for American astronomer Edwin Hubble. Although not the first space telescope, the Hubble is one of the largest and most versatile, and is well known as both a vital research tool and a public relations boon for astronomy. The HST is a collaboration between NASA and the European Space Agency, and is one of NASA's Great Observatories, along with the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory, the Chandra X-ray Observatory, and the Spitzer Space Telescope. The reason why I'm a fan of the Hubble is simple. This great human invention has seen what we haven't, and have brought to us some of the most amazing pictures of the universe, which I personally love because of it's incredible size and unknown things. Universe is something that doesn't fit in anyone's mind (at least not in mine), and to see some parts of it such as nebulae (which are my favorite) makes me feel like I'm dreaming, and such magic makes me happy. One of my deepest dreams is to work at NASA or at CERN and that's why I'm studying so hard.
